This is for everyone who wants to make sure they're doing what they can do protect their account. It's definitely not fun to lose everything you've worked for in something you've spent a lot of time into. If you don't protect your account well, the Blade and Soul gold in your account may be stolen.

These tips are coming from myself, someone with a Network Security background and has never been hacked while many of my friends have been hacked in a game at least once:

.DO NOT have any part of your real name in any part of your character's name.

.Enable 2-step verification

.If you buy gold or other services for this game, DO NOT use the same payment method/information that NCSoft has on file.

.Do not click any message or email links that lead to NCSoft and asks you to login. If you have to go to the NCSoft webpage, type it in or Google it yourself!

.If another company or other source, that has your information on file, has ever announced that they've had a security breach, change your password on everything that shares the same account credentials immediately.

.If you connect through wireless, password protect your router and do not connect to unknown wireless networks. Connecting to a hotspot that a hacker setup is enough for the hacker to log all your keystrokes during your session.

The real name thing is pretty important. With how open the internet is and especially with social media, a single name can be enough to get all the personal information a hacker needs to bypass passwords, 2-step verification, and other normal means of logging into something. Also to note, every single one of my friends who has ever been hacked in any game we've played, used their real name in their character's name.

Remember, hackers do not use normal methods to get into an account. So many peoples' ideas of, "well, to access the account, one would have to go through these steps to do so, I don't see how it's possible" don't actually apply. For more information, please go to http://www.bladesoulgold.net
