Sometimes you just have to go with the first thing that comes to mind. When I was looking through the options for the new
nike roshe run sale option on NIKEiD,I ended up with something that totally reminded me of an old childhood favorite of mine. It’s not the perfect Voltron sneaker tribute by any means (the swoosh really should be silver, but it just looks wrong in when I put it together),but then again my childhood memories of Voltron isn’t perfect either. For example,I’m pretty sure GoLion (the Japanese version of Voltron) never lost a fight ever and there was once a time I thought the vehicle version with what seemed like 50 cars, boats and planes was pretty cool. The Nike Air Max Sensation is known for being Chris Webbers signature sneaker back in the 90’s.We recently took a look at the 90’s basketball silhouette dressed in a classic colorway that was inspired by the
nike air max 1 premium.
Like I said, imperfect memories so this is me trying to make sense of it all.Anyways, hope you enjoy this edition of Fun With NIKEiD,which also includes a look at the customization for the Nike Lunar Control 4 (check out our interview with Rory McIlroy here).Sadly, the limited color palette prevents the Croc and Reptile options from truly standing out.My hopes of Kobe-themed Mambacurial Lunar Control 4 were quickly dashed.Time and time again,Nike has created different variations of the timeless Infrared Air Max 90,from slimmed-down Ultra versions to “Reverse Infrared”.Less than a year after they once again brought back the original version, another take on the classic
nike air max 90 arrives, one which features a simple color swap. This rendition chooses a vibrant orange in place of Infrared, and admittedly does include a darker shade of grey across the upper.
Nevertheless, the iconic color blocking stays intact, which is a look that
nike air max 90 ultra fans will never get tired of.This particular colorway is arriving overseas now,so stay tuned for a stateside release date coming soon.Don C isn’t the only one using “beach” for a sneaker release.Nike’s in-house design team is also applying the neutral hue to one of their most beloved runners of all time. The Nike Air Max 90’s sleek build is is found draped in suede and mesh for this release and both materials are covered in the color.Actually there isn’t much else happening on the silhouette save for the white midsole and gum outsole.White peaks out on the lining as well while leather and plastic add a bit of texture to the affair as well.
